Thanks for visiting Knit Traders! Our policies here will answer a few questions you may have about how often we ship, when to expect your package, and how to make a return if necessary.  These policies may change at any time without notice.

PAYMENT AND TAXES

All prices are shown in Canadian dollars. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express through Stripe. If you're experiencing an issue paying online, you can call the store during business hours to place your order - 613 384 3951. Sales tax on most items is 13% HST, 

SHIPPING

We ship on Mondays and Thursdays, typically before noon.  Orders placed after mid-morning on Mondays and Thursdays may not be processed until the next shipping day, but we'll do our best to get your order shipped as fast as possible - no one wants to wait for great yarn!

All orders are shipped via Canada Post or FedEx. We will notify you right away if we anticipate any problems fulfilling your order due to low stock, we will contact you right away. Knit Traders is not responsible for lost or damaged packages once they leave our store. Customs brokerage fees may apply to non-Canadian orders.

For delivery within Canada:

Orders within Canada are sent Expedited Parcel; they are trackable and insured up to $100. 

For orders up to $75.00 before taxes - $12
For orders between $75.01 and $199.99 before taxes - $15

For orders of $195.00 or more before taxes – FREE SHIPPING!

For delivery to the Continental US:

Orders to the US are sent Small Package Air; they are not trackable or insured. If insurance is desired, please leave a note in the Comment Section on checkout (or call or e-mail us) and we will add the cost.

For orders up to $75.00 before taxes - $12
For orders between $75.01 and $199.99 before taxes - $15
For orders of $195.00 or more before taxes – FREE SHIPPING!

For International delivery including Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico:

Orders to international locations other than the Continental US are sent Air Mail if less that 2 kilograms. Orders greater than 2 kilograms are sent via Ground. International orders are not trackable or insured. If insurance is desired, please leave a note in the Comment Section on checkout (or call or e-mail us).

For orders under 2 kg and up to $100.00 before taxes - $25
For orders under 2 kg and between $100.01 and $199.99 before taxes - $35
For orders under 2 kg and $200.00 or more before taxes – $45

Please note that orders over 2 kg are sent Expresspost with tracking and insurance and can cost between $100 and $120. Should additional fees apply, we will contact you before processing your order.

RETURNS & EXCHANGES

If you're unhappy with your yarn order (or other fibre), we will be happy to accept returns within 60 days if:

- The product is unused
- It's in its original condition and packaging
- You have the original receipt

To begin the process, first please contact us by email or phone so we are aware of the issue. You can then send the product to our store and we will issue a store credit for the value of the product. Unfortunately, unless we made an error in fulfilling your order, we cannot offer a refund on shipping. We cannot assume responsibility for exchanged items lost or damaged in shipping.

NOTE: Needles, accessories, books, notions, or sale items cannot be returned or exchanged.

CLASSES

Classes can be purchased online, in-store, or by phone at 613 384 3951. Full payment in advance is required to hold your space. If we cancel a class (low enrolment, inclement weather, etc.) we will notify you as soon as possible and offer a refund or credit for another class. Customers arriving late for a class may not be admitted at the instructor's discretion.

You may cancel your registration for a class if you provide a minimum 48 hours notice. We will provide store credit for another class. Cancellation with less than 48 hours notice cannot be refunded.

We are unable to offer make-ups or credit for missed classes.

COLOURS

While we do our very best to ensure that yarn colours are presented accurately, there is a possibility of inconsistency due to variations in dye lot and how your device displays pictures.

PRIVACY POLICY

We value your privacy as much as we value our own - which is a lot!  Customers information is never shared with a third party.

ERRORS, INACCURACIES, AND OMISSIONS

While we have done our very best to ensure the information on this site is accurate, there may be typos or inaccuracies either because we received the wrong information, or we made a mistake inputting it.  If you see an error, please let us know, otherwise please note that the information on this site can be changed at any time. If a product listing changes and there are active orders, we will do our best to notify all customers as soon as possible.
